Chaitra Navratra is a nine days festivity which starts on the first day of Chaitra month according to Hindu calendar. On the ninth day of the festival, the birthday of Lord Ram is celebrated. Hence, it is also called Ram Navami. This year, the festival is starting from 21st of March and will continue till 29th of March 2015.
Ram Navami celebrated with fervor and gaiety. He is considered the incarnation of Lord Vishnu and known for its virtuous qualities as a human. It is an important event for devotees to imitate Lord Ram virtues and gain peace and prosperity in life. Devotees keep fast to please the Lord and acquire the blessing to be a perfect human being like him. It is a celebration of joy and high expectation of devotees to get blessing from the Lord. Hence, it is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor every year.
Shri Ram Hanuman Vatika Temple organizes grand celebration of this festival every year. This year, the celebration will be even more special with the participation of enlightened sages and devotees from different regions of the country. Every day, Maharaj Shri Mahatyagi Ji will perform special “Shat Chandi Maha Yagya” and “kanya” puja on ashthami to revere Goddess Durga. It will definitely lift the spirituality of the devotees participating in this festival with full devotion.
Every day, special programs will be organized to showcase stories of Rama’s life to the devotees. In this festival, Ram-Leela will be organized from 7:30 PM to 11 PM at Ramlila Maidan. Nowhere, such beautiful programs are held in Delhi in this festival except in this temple. Devotees are requested to attend the festival with their family to get enlightened and acquire blessing of Lord Ram. Free food/prasada will be distributed among the devotees in the temple premises.
