Sharad Purnima is celebrated during the full moon night of Aswin of lunar calendar on 7th of October 2014. It is one of the most important festivals in the Hindu religion and also named as Kaumudi (moonlight) festival. In dazzling moonlight, the popular Raas Lila was performed by Lord Krishna with Raddha and Gopis for the entire night. Hence, the whole environment remains filled with love and romance.
Sharad purnima is also called kojagari purnima. In this night, Goddess Lakshmi visits every house in search of awaked people and blesses them with wealth. The women keep fasting during the day with Lord Krishna as their consort. The people don’t sleep during the night instead sing, dance, and perform amusing activities to keep awake. The festival is celebrated in different forms and names with fervor and enthusiasm.
Shri Ram Hanuman Vatika temple is organizing special ritual and recitation of bhajans for the devotees with the auspicious present of Shri Mahatyagi Maharaj Ji. The popular “Sur ke Shyam” will be organized to show the beautiful Raas Lila and it is devoted to Lord Krishna. The celebration will start from 8 AM in the morning and continue till 12 PM in the evening. After performing puja, Prasad is provided to the devotees as a token of blessing from the God.
